How to Teach Kids the Love of Islam at a Young Age?
Kids are the future of a nation. Every parent knows how hard it can be to get kids excited about praying Salah and reading the Quran. Many of us worry about this. It is our obligation and duty as parents to teach our children so that they grow up to be believing, practicing Muslims. Some Parents search for Islamic school and perfect Islamic teacher for their kids. The problem is that we want to delegate our duties to someone else. Someone else will take the responsibility of explaining to our kids what Islam is, who Allah is, who Muhammad is etc. Sending the child to an Islamic school is an important but minor part of their Islamic education.
Parents as primary teacher
The fact is that we are the first and primary teacher who teach the message of Islam to our kids. If we wish a good change in our kid's life, we should take keen interest for the education of our children. Having a strong Knowledge of parenting according to Quran and putting these principles into practice and doing good tarbiyah is the success for parents.
Islam is our life. Show them Islam in the day to day life. Let them live, experience and breathe Islam truly. The things which kids learn in their childhood have a great impact on their whole life.
We should provide our kids an Islamic environment and teach them facts about Islam. To create the interest of our kids In Islam we must start telling them about Islam at their very early age.
Teach basics of Islam
First of all start teaching main facts about Islam and fundamental beliefs of Islam. Our own practices are examples for our kids. When parents do good deeds then kids also do so by copying them.
Islamic books and stories
Give Islamic Education to kids from an Early stage. You could also start with some excellent Islamic kid’s books.
Books used to be our best friends. Telling stories is a great way to teach kids about Islam.
Giving your children an Islamic Companion in the form of colourful books that narrate the stories of their favourite
Heroes from Quran can act as charm.
It may sound self-evident but engaging your child during storytime will play a tremendous role in how much your
child likes to read when he is older. Let us give our kids colouful informative books which teach them Islamic Etiquettes.
There are so many beautiful Hadith for kids, which are filled with wisdom from the Prophet Muhammad (صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ).
May Allah (عَزَّوَجَلَّ) enable us to teach our kids teachings of Islam and make them become a good muslim!
